Detailní popis Anti-Skid Braking System for Caravans and Trailers AL-KO ATC
Permanent Safety When Towing!
If you have ever experienced a critical driving situation with a car/trailer combination, you know how sensitive trailers or caravans can react at high speeds – and what dangers there are! The slightest avoidance manoeuvre, side wind on bridges or shock waves when overtaking heavy trucks can quickly make the trailer sway or serve. The great danger lies in the trailer breaking away and becoming uncontrollable. When you have experienced the benefits of the AL-KO Trailer Control, you will never ever want to drive a car/trailer combo without this emergency electronic back box again! In your car, you rely on your ESP; and with your trailer, you can rely on the ATC.
ATC keeps the trailer safely on course!
The function of the ATC is so cleverly simple. Similar to a car's ESP system, the AL-KO ATC continuously controls the handling response of the trailer or caravan. In driving situations which cause the trailer to swerve or sway, the transverse acceleration sensors of the ATC control electronics detect the slightest sideways movements even before the trailer ESP fitted to the towing car detects an axial movement. The trailer is gently braked immediately – without the driver's intervention. A few seconds of applying the brakes are sufficient to restore the rig to a stable dynamic state.
The only 4.5 kg AL-KO ATC Stabiliser System can be operated in addition to a trailer ESP fitted in the towing car and offered by automobile manufacturers.
11 answers to the most important questions:
- How long does it take to fit the ATC?
Retrofitting takes about 2 – 4 hours. - Does the ATC have to be entered in the car papers as a retrofit?
No. It is sufficient to keep the Certificate of Homologation (type test approval) together with the car papers. - How is the ATC powered?
The ATC is connected to the trailer distribution box and there it is powered by the continuous positive of the 13-pin plug while travelling. - How much power does the ATC require?
Standard fuse, 15 A. - Can the ATC also be fitted to trailers with a 7-pin plug?
No. There is no sufficient power supply with a 7-pin plug. - Where must the LED be fitted?
Next to the overrun device. - Does the brake lamp light up when the ATC works?
No. The ATC brakes the car/trailer combo gently, similar to the car's engine brake. This makes it unnecessary to activate the brake lamp. - Does the ATC (similar to the AKS stabilising coupling) meet the criteria for 100 km/h (factor 1 for caravan and factor 1.2 for other trailers)?
No. The ATC is simply an emergency system (like the ESP on a car) and does not control the critical speed range like an AKS stabiliser. - Does the ATC require maintenance?
No. The system is maintenance free. - How do I know that the ATC is on standby?
As soon as you connect the 13-pin plug to the towing vehicle, the ATC makes a complete self-test (1 brake operation and plausibility check of the electronic system). The functional state is indicated by a green LED on the overrun device. Green = Ready; Red = Off (but operational), Flashing red = Trailer is braking (not operational) - How do I recognise when the ATC emergency system is working in the towing vehicle?
The gentle braking effect is noticeable in the towing vehicle.
